☀️ Basic Plant Care Tips

Light: Most houseplants love bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun unless the tag says otherwise.

Don't let natural light limit you- we offer grow lights so you can have thriving plants anywhere in your home!

Water: Check with your finger or moisture meter – water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry.

Humidity: Tropical plants love humidity! A humidifier can help, but an indoor greenhouse or grow cabinet is even better.

Fertilizer: Use during the growing season (spring/summer) to encourage lush growth.

💧 Water Quality for Houseplants

Tap Water

Contains chlorine/chloramine + minerals.

Usually fine for most plants.

Tip: Let sit 24–48 hrs to let chlorine evaporate.

Filtered Water

Reduces chlorine, some minerals, and odors.

Gentler on roots.

Great middle option for most plants.

Distilled / RO Water

Purest option (no chlorine, minerals, or salts).

Best for sensitive plants like Calathea, Alocasia, and velvety Anthuriums.

Remember to fertilize regularly since it has zero minerals.

Signs You Should Upgrade Water💦:

  • Brown leaf tips
  • Salt buildup on soil
  • Yellowing with no other cause
  • Sensitive plants declining

Bottom Line:

Tap (rested) works. Filtered is better. Distilled/RO is best for picky or high-value plants.

🛠️ Basic Troubleshooting for Distressed Plants

🚩 Yellowing Leaves

Cause: Overwatering is the #1 culprit.

Fix: Let the soil dry out and check for drainage issues. Use a moisture meter if unsure.

🚩 Crispy Brown Edges

Cause: Low humidity or underwatering.

Fix: Mist more often, add a humidity tray, or move to a more humid area.

🚩 Drooping Leaves

Cause: Could be either over or underwatering.

Fix: Check the soil’s moisture level and adjust watering accordingly.

🚩Pale or Washed-Out Leaves

Cause: Too much direct sunlight.

Fix: Move the plant to a spot with bright indirect light.

🚩Sticky, Cottony, or Speckled Leaves?

Cause: Pests like mealybugs or spider mites.

Fix: Isolate the plant and treat with our gentle pest spray or neem oil.

💚 Pro Tip: Quarantine any new plants before adding them to your collection. This helps prevent the spread of pests or disease.
