How to Buy Crystals Online

How to purchase crystals online

Navigating the online world of shopping for crystals without the stress!

Whether you are a seasoned crystal collector or just starting out on your crystal journey, we are here to help!

Knowing what to look for when purchasing online can help avoid overpaying, buying poor quality, or even getting a fake crystal.

The first step to buying crystals online is finding a reliable source. This means you can count on accurate pricing, conscious sourcing, and correct representation of the product.

Crystals often have trade names they are commonly known by, but it's always good to know the proper name of the material that you are getting. This can also tie into it’s sourcing and authenticity.

Most crystal buyers are either collectors of rare and high-quality materials and/or interested in metaphysical properties. Regardless of your reason for buying crystals, you can use the following guide to assist you in your purchasing decisions!

  1. Consider rarity, size, weight, color and variety

Pricing can vary greatly even within the same materials. Some may have specific localities that add to its rareness, or even a unique color or pattern. Some stones may appear small, but have a lot of weight to them. A lot of crystals are priced by weight and not just overall dimensions.

  1. Trust your instincts

If you keep coming back to the same stone and you aren't sure why, it is usually your subconscious being called by it. Regardless of it the generic metaphysical needs match what you had in mind, this is probably the stone you actually need!

  1. How does looking at the stone make you feel

Consider how the crystal makes you feel when you look at it. Take a few moments in a quiet space to meditate on the images of the crystal. Does your body have tingles? Do you feel warm or cold? Does your body naturally move toward or away from the screen? These are all indicators on if you should make the purchase or look at other options.

  1. Consider color theory

While it is popular to google each stones meaning, a rough guide would be to consider magical color theory. This can be as simple as the color chart of chakras or more complex if you are a magic practitioner. For example, the color purple relates to the crown chakra. This means that a stone such as amethyst would share these correspondences and be good for opening psychic abilities and intuition. This can be applied to most crystals.

  1. Is the seller trustworthy

When shopping with a new seller, look into reviews from other buyers if possible. Look into the accuracy of their product descriptions and quality from photos and videos. Keep in mind, that many sellers have specialties and may even only carry certain materials. A quick way to check for accuracy and honesty is to see if they carry malachite or turquoise. These are two very commonly faked materials and a quick google search will show major differences. I would not advise buying from any seller that is selling misrepresented versions of these materials. While not all sellers are trying to scam you, at a minimum, it shows that they don't have the knowledge to know what they are offering and could be offering other items are poor quality and high prices.

Here at Sugar Leaf Crystals, we strive to offer accuracy, high-quality, and transparency. If you ever want additional photos or videos, don't hesitate to ask!

We hope this guide helps you in your crystal endeavors.

Happy shopping!
